God's love is modeled consistently through the games, sports, crafts, Bible stories, drama and quet times the campers share within their team of Guides. RFKC-Arvada is a unique cooperative venture among 10 Christian churches, local business and community leaders. During 2008, over 150 individuals and businesses will join together to volunteer, support, plan and raise funds to create a week long, unique, high quality camp experience sensitively designed to meet the needs of children ages 7-11 without permanent families. Our coordinating camp sponsor for all of our 16 years is Arvada Covenant Church. During 2008, 77 volunteers invested a week at camp to care for, and have great fun with, 69 young campers with tattered lives from the Denver Metro area (View our RFKC-Arvada camp video). Warning! Viewing this may hook you! RFKC- Arvada is affiliated with RFKC, Inc., the leading international non-profit which organizes summer camp experiences for these boys and girls experiencing deep heartaches. In 2008, 159 RFKC camps in 36 states and 19 in 7 countries will impact over 6,000 young campers. For one week each summer RFKC-Arvada plans and creates a fun, inspirational and life-changing outdoor mountain experience with sensitive adults. King's Team was started in 2002 focusing upon 12 -15 year old "graduates" of RFKC. Extending their RFKC camp experience into their teen years enables these kids to know that our care for them extends to the years of life that are often the most challenging. For the first time, RFKC-Arvada hosted the Royal Ride a recreational bicycle family rally for all ages on September 15. This fun event took place on the Clear Creek Bicycle Trail and was designed to directly support our 2008 camp. Over 100 riders raised over $13,000! Six area churches participated in helping increase awareness of our special campers. For more information, please click the 'Events' link at the bottom of the page. As a camp volunteer, you commit to 5 full days in a traditional summer camp environment. All camp volunteers are intentsively screened with a background check, matched with roles fitting your abilities, and trained to high RFKC standards. You will be a part of an experienced team (ages 18-80) that will have a fun-filled, purposeful week. Camp volunteers report that RFKC deeply impacts their lives and faith. This outreach is great for families with adult children children over 18 who will share an unforgettable experience together serving along side with other volunteers with professional qualifications. You will have the opportunity make a difference in our campers' lives by giving each child positive memories on which they need to draw on in the future, showing and telling them that they are valuable in God's eyes, and helping them rely on God for hope. For a first hand account from our very own "Mr. February", Grandpa Ron!, check out this Channel 9 News link that has a video link inside.

STORY & VIDEO

We are Royal Family Kids' Camps-Arvada; a non-profit, tax-deductible, all-volunteer, life changing, five-day (Monday-Friday) summer camp experience targeted to Denver Metro foster families and children (ages 7-11) with shattered lives due to abuse and neglect.
At camp, adult volunteers enter the emotional world of these young campers communicating in many ways that there is a God who personally values them. Camp volunteers demonstrate compassion and tenderhearted care while engaging in fun and challenging outdoor activities where focused care helps insecure children feel safe and loved.
We have wonderful supporting organizations and individuals who for the past 16 years have financially contributed to support this ministry. Click
